Lawn mowing & edging
Regular mowing helps a lawn look tidy and makes the garden more enjoyable to use. Our team considers the grass condition, recent weather and how quickly it is growing before deciding on an appropriate cut. We work around trees, beds and garden features, and tidy the edges where agreed so the finish looks considered rather than rushed.
A lawn that has grown long may need a gradual return to its usual height instead of a single very close cut. Likewise, wet ground or dry weather can change what is sensible on the day. We discuss the condition of the lawn and adapt the work to avoid treating every visit as exactly the same job.
Mowing frequency is planned around the growing season and your preferred level of upkeep. We also agree how grass clippings will be handled. If there are persistent bare patches, uneven areas or other concerns, we can discuss them with you; major lawn renovation or new turf would be a separate piece of work.

Hedge trimming & shrub care
Well-kept hedges and shrubs give a garden structure, privacy and interest throughout the year. We help keep growth in check, tidy the outline of hedges and prevent plants from crowding paths or neighbouring borders. Before cutting, we consider the type of plant, its condition and the result you want to achieve.
Different plants respond differently to pruning, and the right timing is not the same for every hedge or flowering shrub. We discuss whether a light trim, shaping or more selective pruning is appropriate. We also look for signs of nesting wildlife before work and may need to leave an area undisturbed or return at a more suitable time.
The scope depends on height, access and the amount of material to remove. Please share photographs of larger or difficult-to-reach plants so we can assess the work beforehand. This service covers garden hedge and shrub care; any substantial tree work or specialist intervention needs to be discussed separately rather than assumed to be included.

Weeding & border care
Weeds can quickly make a garden feel untidy and compete with the plants you want to keep. Regular attention is often more manageable than waiting until borders are overwhelmed. We work through agreed beds and garden areas, removing unwanted growth while taking care around established planting.
Before starting, we discuss any seedlings, bulbs or self-seeded plants you would like to keep. Some weeds can be removed easily by hand; others have spreading roots and need repeated attention. We explain where ongoing care is likely to be needed, rather than promising that a single visit will prevent every weed from returning.
Border maintenance can also include light tidying, removal of spent growth and keeping the edges of planted areas clear. The exact tasks are agreed around the season and your priorities. If a bed needs a larger clear-out, new planting or a different layout, we can discuss that as a separate improvement. The aim is to keep your borders manageable while retaining the character of your garden.

Seasonal tidying & garden care
A garden’s needs change throughout the year. Growth can be rapid in spring and summer, while fallen leaves and spent plants often become the priority later on. We adjust the tasks to the season, the weather and what is happening in your garden, keeping the work practical and focused.
Seasonal care may include collecting fallen leaves, tidying beds, cutting back suitable spent growth and clearing loose garden debris from agreed areas. We discuss which plants and habitats should be left undisturbed, rather than cutting everything back simply to make the garden look empty. Timing matters, particularly for plants that flower on existing growth or provide shelter for wildlife.
You can book a seasonal visit on its own or make it part of regular maintenance. It is also an opportunity to identify repairs or improvements that need planning before the next growing season. We agree priorities for the visit in advance, so essential work comes first and you know what can realistically be achieved within the time available.
